What to Expect

You now have full access to Exercise Central.  You will receive weekly e-mails linking to specially-designed exercise programs that are specific to marathon training.  The exercises are organized based upon a progression of difficulty. They are geared to strengthen the most common areas of anatomical weaknesses that lead to overuse injuries.

Warming Up

Always remember to warm-up for 8-10 minutes prior to doing the workouts. This is important! It prepares your body for the workout and significantly reduces the chance of injury. The warm up phase should include any type of cardiovascular activity: light jog or fast walk, elliptical, jumping rope, dynamic stretching, or a very heated game of Angry Birds :) You should avoid prolonged, static stretching. (Static stretching is defined as holding a stretch for 15 second or more.)
